Loss of libido is a common problem. The most common causes are psychological related to stress. However, half of all women's testosterone is produced in the ovary. After the menopause or removal of the ovaries a oman may get symptoms from a lack of testosterone. This involves a loss of libido as well as tiredness and other non-specific symptoms. This can be improved with testosterone replacement therapy and when this occurs it is called the Female Androgen Deficiency Syndrome (FADS).
