Are you an expectant mother? Carrying a baby is the joy of motherhood. But pregnant mothers can be anxious with various concerns as to whether the pregnancy is developing normally or that it may result in a miscarriage or even an ectopic pregnancy.
The Gynaecology Clinic provides an early pregnancy scan (sometimes also called a viability scan or dating scan) to reassure you in this very early stage of your pregnancy.
A pregnancy can be seen from as early as 6 weeks from the beginning of your last period (LMP), and not the date of conception. If you’ve got any bleeding or pain or any other symptoms, then this scan will accurately confirm viability.
At the Gynaecology Clinic, we pride on our state-of-the-art medical equipment and facilities including 4D imaging. Our doctors are professionally experienced and caring and will ensure that you receive the best care possible and give advice and support where necessary.
A Nuchal Translucency scan is performed between 11 weeks + 2 days and 13 weeks + 6 days of pregnancy. It is combined with a blood test from the mother to test for Down syndrome and two other chromosomal abnormalities, Edward’s and Patau’s syndrome.
20-week Fetal Anomaly scan is done to exclude structural abnormalities. A detailed scan of your baby’s anatomy is carried out. This scan also checks the placenta position and fluid surrounding your baby.
Fetal wellbeing scan is done after 24 weeks of pregnancy. It is used to check your baby’s growth and wellbeing between 27 and 47 weeks of pregnancy.
Fetal sexing or Gender ultrasound scans are performed from 15 weeks of pregnancy onwards, which is at this point 99% accurate. It is done to determine the sex of your baby.
We have the latest ultrasound technology which provides high detail images for more accurate diagnosis as well as 3D and 4D scans. The 3D scan focuses on your baby’s facial features. With this, parents can watch their baby grow. You’ll also get images of your baby to take away with you.
Also called early pregnancy scan—it provides you with vital information like the expected delivery date and number of babies. Pregnancy confirmation and fetal heart can be seen from 6 weeks by vaginal scan and from 8-9 weeks by abdominal scan. It also enables the Nuchal scan to be correctly booked.
All scans are carried out in a comfortable, hitch-free environment. We have an amazing team of Consultant Obstetricians and Specialist Sonographers.
